About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess new and existing suppliers by reviewing questionnaires, certifications and other evidence to understand security posture
  • Identify supplier risks, translate technical findings into recommendations, and manage risks throughout the supplier lifecycle
  • Lead and contribute to control testing, PCI DSS assessments, regulatory reviews, and internal and external audits
  • Evaluate evidence, identify gaps, and drive findings and remediation through to completion
  • Improve security policies, procedures and controls so they are practical and proportionate
  • Respond to security questions and requests through the Security Front Door
  • Review new products, technologies and business changes, identify security risks and control gaps, and turn security and regulatory expectations into practical requirements
  • Use data, automation and AI to simplify and scale security processes
  • Bring fresh perspectives to security challenges and help less experienced analysts grow
  • Collaborate with security specialists, engineers, product teams, third party risk, procurement and colleagues across Monzo

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience identifying and assessing security risks and recommending proportionate risk treatments
  • Ability to review supplier questionnaires, security policies, penetration test reports and assurance evidence
  • Strong security fundamentals and technical curiosity
  • Ability to use evidence and data to prioritise and identify root causes
  • Ability to work independently and challenge assumptions
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and decide what needs attention or escalation
  • Ability to explain security risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and build strong relationships
  • Passion for cyber security and ongoing professional development
  • Experience in financial services, fintech or another highly regulated environment would be great
  • Experience supporting PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2 or NIST-aligned assurance, regulatory reviews, or internal and external audits would be great
