About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, recommend, and implement strategic initiatives to strengthen associate engagement, connection, and retention
- Develop integrated talent strategies, programs, and learning opportunities supporting associates throughout their careers
- Monitor emerging trends, market practices, and innovations in legal talent and professional services
- Translate research and market intelligence into recommendations for firm programs and practices
- Partner with Marketing and Public Relations to strengthen the firm's associate talent brand
- Develop reports, presentations, and recommendations for the Chief Legal Talent Officer and firm leadership on associate talent metrics and trends
- Develop communications and presentations supporting associate surveys, training programs, engagement initiatives, and Legal Talent priorities
- Serve as a primary liaison to the Firmwide Global Committee on Associates and support its strategic priorities
- Partner with Human Resources on the annual non-partner lawyer year-end evaluation and compensation process
- Enhance key moments in the associate lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, development, engagement, and transitions
- Lead the firm's strategy and administration for relevant external market surveys
- Work with external organizations and publications to support the firm's talent brand and reputation
- Lead, develop, and manage Legal Talent Coordinators
- Contribute to additional strategic Legal Talent priorities and firmwide initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience in talent management, human resources, professional development, attorney development, or a related field within a law firm or other professional services environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated project and program management skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data, research, and market intelligence
- Commitment to client service, responsiveness, and high-quality work
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Initiative, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, and sound independent judgment
- High degree of discretion and professionalism with sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability and interest to learn new technologies and tools
- Ability to work outside standard business hours and travel when business needs require
