About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the research behind a set of client accounts
Execute custom quantitative studies and manage multiple projects concurrently with little oversight
Build client relationships that lead to renewals and new work
Work with Research Directors, Account Executives, and Research Operations partners
Coach Research Managers and Research Associates on craft, service standards, quality, and effective AI use
Nurture day-to-day client relationships and work toward near-autonomous leadership of at least one client
Handle moderate-complexity client conversations without escalation
Identify expansion and research-bank opportunities and bring them to Directors or Account Executives
Contribute the research perspective to proposals and pitches
Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from kickoff preparation through post-delivery documentation
Apply methodological knowledge to survey design, analysis, and storytelling
Deliver near-client-ready first drafts and use project checklists at each stage gate
Use Morning Consult’s data ecosystem to provide consultative value
Anticipate delivery and client risks, proposing mitigations
Re-prioritize projects when timelines compress or scope changes
Independently run touchpoints with Research Operations and Sales
Provide concrete, candid coaching and involve junior teammates in skill-building
Use AI in higher-complexity research workflows and critically review AI-assisted outputs
Pressure-test processes, propose improvements, and document and share effective practices
Perform other tasks assigned at the Company’s discretion

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience designing and analyzing custom quantitative survey research
Track record of running complex projects from design through client-ready deliverables with minimal oversight
Experience managing client relationships and deepening trust over time
Strong methodological knowledge
Strong prioritization and project management skills across several concurrent projects
Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication
Ability to turn findings into a compelling story
Uncompromising attention to detail and high technical standards
Experience or interest in coaching and developing teammates
Comfort with ambiguity and change, and openness to new ways of working
Hands-on experience using AI tools in research or analytical work, with sound judgment about correcting outputs
Willingness to take feedback, learn, and grow
Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
Must confirm residence in one of the listed hiring states
