About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform SCADA design and on-site integration of SCADA systems for utility-scale wind, solar, and storage substation applications
  • Create or support basic network switch configurations
  • Create or support basic SEL HMI programs
  • Create or support basic SEL RTU programs
  • Create or support fiber diagrams and communications block diagrams
  • Support SCADA integration activities
  • Work independently with high-level direction from engineering leadership
  • Perform data analysis, engineering calculations, and engineering tasks for small projects
  • Review and approve equipment vendor drawings and test reports with lead engineer or manager oversight
  • Provide engineering support for proposals, estimating, procurement, and construction
  • Provide technical support to personnel and cross-functional project teams
  • Assist field personnel in resolving unanticipated site conditions
  • Assist in developing and evaluating technical requirements for fabrication and construction tender packages
  • Maintain a first-time document review accuracy rate of 75%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related Engineering program
  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or achievement of EIT within 6 months of entering position, with the expectation of achieving a PE license in the future
  • PE license, preferred
  • Engineer III: minimum of 4 years’ experience
  • Engineer IV: minimum of 7 years’ experience
  • 4+ years of related work experience in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) industry
  • Proficient in engineering theories and principles
  • Proficient in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making recommendations, and presenting recommendations
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on a team and alone
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to project sites
  • Visa sponsorship is offered for this position
