About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with projecting needed team members in collaboration with recruiting and project leadership
- Identify and pre-screen potential field team members
- Assist new team members in navigating Mortenson and identify resources
- Maintain confidential management files
- Support resolution of HR and payroll-related items and escalate as needed
- Order new IT accounts for field leaders and support benefits enrollment
- Manage craft team member transfers, including transfer letters and mobility eligibility updates
- Deliver field orientation to craft new hires
- Support project administrators with craft new-hire orientation and facilitate site coverage
- Ensure new-hire paperwork is completed accurately and timely
- Audit drug screening postings, conversions, and craft team transfers
- Maintain applicant logs and streamline new-hire logistics
- Facilitate onsite safety, quality, and craft training events, including venues, rooms, equipment, and catering
- Maintain training logs, record retention, and LMS credit completion
- Coordinate offsite training enrollment and track required pre-work
- Prepare and distribute training materials
- Set up and clean up training rooms
- Maintain training event records and support LMS credit assignment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of experience in administrative support
- 2+ years of experience in construction or related industry
- Knowledge of general safety protocols in construction
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Project management, leadership, and business skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong facilitation, speaking, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 5%
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
