About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Power Delivery Operating Group by building supplier relationships and managing procurement activities
  • Purchase equipment and materials at the best value while meeting quality, quantity, and specification requirements
  • Plan material needs during the project design phase to secure long-lead and critical-path items
  • Solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select suppliers based on cost and schedule competitiveness
  • Ensure buyouts align with budgets and manage procurement risks and compliance
  • Interpret technical specifications and confirm supplier compliance
  • Draft and execute purchase agreements and coordinate with the Risk team on surety requirements
  • Track orders from placement through delivery and communicate status to project teams
  • Conduct quarterly job site and supplier visits
  • Project Buyer I: collaborate with project, estimating, and design phase teams; learn contract administration and procurement risk management; support order tracking and supplier issue resolution
  • Project Buyer II: lead procurement strategy development, critical equipment risk mitigation, supplier performance calls, and supplier performance improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or related discipline, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
  • Project Buyer I: 2-3+ years of procurement experience
  • Project Buyer II: 5+ years of procurement experience
  • Ability to handle multiple procurement activities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
  • Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and/or materials, purchasing processes, and procedures
  • Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal, and communication skills
  • Strong customer service and analytical skills
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Software experience
  • Current driver's license
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
  • Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position
