About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive Lean initiatives across Preconstruction, Supply Chain, and their interfaces with Operations and project teams
  • Analyze end-to-end business workflows to identify waste, bottlenecks, handoffs, rework, and opportunities to improve flow, predictability, and value creation
  • Facilitate Kaizen and improvement workshops with cross-functional stakeholders to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
  • Organize, analyze, and validate data and communicate results through clear metrics and dashboards
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to simplify work, improve decision-making, automate repetitive activities, and generate actionable insights while following approved company standards
  • Develop and maintain process maps, standard work, visual management, and operating systems
  • Support implementation and sustainment of improvements by establishing ownership, standardizing processes, developing adoption plans, and monitoring performance
  • Partner with project teams and stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and improve business performance
  • Apply Lean methodologies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools to improve safety, quality, productivity, and schedule outcomes
  • Monitor improvement initiatives and track progress against goals and performance metrics
  • Promote flow and pull-based thinking, reduce batching and work-in-process, improve handoffs, and advance one-piece-flow principles
  • Coach and develop team members in Lean thinking and problem-solving

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree OR equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of work experience
  • Internship experience in construction or manufacturing
  • Prior experience in construction job sites preferred
  • Current driver’s license
  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles
  • Excellent reliability and follow-through
  • Effective trainer and facilitator
  • Ability to influence through relationship building
  • Proactive self-starter with a growth mindset
  • Strong sense of curiosity and optimism
  • Effective communication and active listening skills
  • Senior Lean Engineer II: minimum five years' construction or manufacturing experience
  • Senior Lean Engineer II: minimum two years in a full-time continuous improvement role in manufacturing or construction
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
