About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Keep open lines of communication with delinquent members for early intervention counseling
  • Work closely with investor credit unions and maintain positive working relationships with their collection staff
  • Use problem-solving abilities to address issues and keep all parties informed while working toward resolutions
  • Make daily outbound calls to review members' financial status and develop workable repayment arrangements
  • Develop appropriate resolutions that meet the requirements of all parties involved
  • Learn other areas of the mortgage default space to expand knowledge and career opportunities
  • Make quick decisions and deescalate situations using sympathy
  • Display grit and perseverance during challenging situations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 1 year of collections or customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and deadline-driven environment
  • Working knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and loss mitigation guidelines
