About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Underwriting Operations for Cyber and Political Violence product lines, including policy lifecycle support, system implementations, workflows, procedures, and reporting
  • Manage all aspects of agency underwriting operations for Cyber and Political Violence
  • Own delivery of agency underwriting operations for Cyber and Political Violence lines of business
  • Liaise with North America underwriting teams on operational processing, performance updates, and queries
  • Learn processing systems and workflows; resolve complex queries and document operational requirements and rules in SOPs
  • Coordinate with International Agency Operations counterparts on global governance, process, communication, expectations, and deliverables
  • Serve as key contact for operational issues and concerns raised by stakeholders or customers, and for non-operations areas such as Finance and Credit Control
  • Manage offshore operations performance, service levels/KPIs, quality, timeliness, issue resolution, corrections, audits, and benchmarking
  • Escalate offshore operational issues for North America Cyber and Political Violence lines in the US, Bermuda, and Canada
  • Review and develop optimal process flows and identify opportunities to maximize offshore operations capabilities
  • Plan with underwriting teams to determine future resourcing requirements
  • Conduct monthly underwriting meetings reviewing reporting, submissions, binds, endorsements, issuance, and query/request trends
  • Perform quality checks on sample transactions processed by offshore teams
  • Develop corrective action plans related to business requirements and underwriting operations performance and delivery quality
  • Participate in projects to improve or automate operations as the Cyber and Political Violence subject matter expert

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Seven-plus years processing/supervising underwriting operational activities within a North American insurance agency, particularly with offshore operations
  • Operational experience with cyber and political violence lines of business
  • Experience with complex operations for CY and PV insurance lines and products
  • Operations experience within a commercial/specialty Insurance agency, acting as Lloyd’s coverholder is preferred
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute innovative plans impacting overall efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically distributed team and quickly understand and adopt to new cultural norms/standards
  • Ability to effectively manage offshore operations and drive maximum value out of relationship
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and management
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working towards and meeting deadlines
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in young and maturing organization
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, SharePoint, etc)
