About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the technical authority for rolling stock, supporting strategic decisions related to the maintenance of trains, rail vehicles, and their systems.
- Define, review, and guide corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance strategies, considering reliability, availability, safety, and cost.
- Provide technical support to maintenance and engineering teams in identifying failure causes, developing action plans, and improving asset performance.
- Analyze reliability and maintenance indicators, such as MKBF, MTBF, MTTR, availability, failure recurrence, and maintenance plan effectiveness.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes by proposing innovative solutions, whether incremental or disruptive.
- Technically evaluate maintenance schedules, plans, procedures, and guidelines applicable to rolling stock.
- Collaborate with designers, suppliers, train manufacturers, and other technical teams to discuss solutions, specifications, and technical recommendations.
- Support the development of strategies that ensure safe operations, reduce costs, increase asset availability, and promote sustainable maintenance throughout the trains’ life cycle.
- Act as the technical focal point for complex rail maintenance matters, supporting managers and teams in decision-making.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields directly connected to the maintenance of railway systems.
- Extensive experience in the maintenance of trains, subways, railways, or rolling stock.
- Experience working in railway operations and maintenance environments, preferably with operating companies.
- Experience in maintenance engineering, maintenance strategy development, and reliability analysis.
- Practical knowledge of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance applied to railway assets.
- Familiarity with reliability and maintenance indicators, such as MKBF, MTBF, MTTR, availability, and failure analysis.
- Ability to act as a technical authority, translating hands-on maintenance experience into strategic recommendations for the business.
- Advanced English is desirable.
