About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Field Service Organization in implementing and maintaining mission-critical digital mobile communication systems
  • Deploy, optimize, and repair infrastructure, public safety loggers, subscribers, microwaves, computers, servers, and network equipment
  • Provide technical support for specialized systems and product applications
  • Troubleshoot software-driven electronics and provision communication system infrastructure
  • Optimize RF and broadband architecture, including legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure
  • Maintain, optimize, test, document, and support complex communication systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, trend analysis, and documentation
  • Develop solutions for difficult technical problems during maintenance, upgrades, and support issues
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Customer Service, Field Engineers, System Managers, and Service Partners
  • Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments
  • Maintain server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and resolve system/application issues
  • Provide guidance in integrating new tools and solutions into team operations
  • Support mission-critical systems through a 24/7/365 on-call organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates degree in technology or related field OR related industry certificates
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required; employer work permit sponsorship is not available
  • Successfully pass a stringent fingerprint background check under the CJIS Security Policy
  • Exposure to RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment and IT networks
  • Knowledge of wired/wireless communications systems, including LAN and WAN
  • Knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet-switching techniques
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
  • Knowledge of configuration and testing of channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches
  • Ability to develop and present technical training
  • FCC license and industry certifications such as ETA are a plus
  • Ability to travel 50-75%
