About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide high-level technical support, optimization, and documentation for specialized communications systems
Troubleshoot software-driven electronics and optimize RF and Broadband architectures
Work with legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure technologies
Program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems
Develop and implement solutions for difficult technical challenges during system implementation, upgrades, or support activities
Perform preventative maintenance routines, trend analysis, and meticulous documentation
Submit comprehensive weekly reports detailing activities and accomplishments
Install, configure, and maintain computer networks, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges
Install server hardware, operating systems, and software infrastructure; troubleshoot system and application issues
Support Public Safety customers across the T5 South territory, primarily on Missouri projects
Travel over 75% to support customers in Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, and Iowa

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Military, Motorola equipment, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering or Networking equipment
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required
Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
Must possess a current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Knowledge and proficiency in wired communications systems (LAN/WAN)
Expertise in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges
Ability to install server hardware/Operating Systems and software infrastructure, and troubleshoot system/application issues
Knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques
High computer literacy, with proficiency in Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
Knowledge of RF systems, including transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks
Proficiency in using communications test equipment
Strong self-management and self-motivation skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to quickly solve customer problems in high-stress situations
Successfully pass a stringent CJIS fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions customers
