About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical oversight and strategic direction for approximately 6 Engineers and Field Service professionals
Maintain architecture and operational integrity of mission-critical backhaul infrastructures supporting ASTRO 25 and CORE technologies
Collaborate with Pre-Sale and Post-Sale design teams on implementation methodologies
Define and design technical network architectures for ASTRO 25 and adjacent backhaul systems
Enforce documentation standards and govern network diagrams and technical drawings
Evaluate and manage lifecycle integration of third-party vendor hardware
Oversee subcontractors and external vendors to ensure technical and schedule alignment
Supervise ASTRO core operations, including radio programming, codeplug development, MTX programming, and CORE integrations or upgrades
Manage resource allocation and personnel assignments to fulfill contractual obligations
Direct network topology assessments, performance reporting, and advanced diagnostic troubleshooting
Manage high-level ASTRO 25 core projects, including SUA, Genesis, and KMF upgrades and Motopatching

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years of Technical Experience
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract
Must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance
Must be able to be onsite daily at the customer’s location in Washington, D.C.
Management and supervisory experience of an onsite team of 20 or more
Strong experience managing high-level projects pertaining to the ASTRO 25 core
Experience overseeing SUA upgrades, Genesis upgrades, KMF upgrades, and Motopatching
Proficiency in network architecture and design methodologies
Experience evaluating and assessing active network infrastructure performance
Advanced expertise in BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and other routing protocols
Experience designing and deploying MPLS solutions
Knowledge of LAN switching protocols
Technical proficiency with Juniper, Nokia, and HP hardware
Knowledge of Metro Ethernet, Frame-Relay, and SONET
Knowledge of fiber, copper, and microwave backhaul
Experience managing Motorola ASTRO 25 system architectures
Technical mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Google Workspace
Command-line and GUI-based equipment provisioning and configuration
Knowledge of ASTRO 25 wide-area voice and data systems, including OTAR/OTAP, MoM, and CAC-PIV cybersecurity technologies
JNCIA, NRS I, or equivalent certifications highly preferred
Familiarity with Network Management Applications strongly preferred
