About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and engineer Firefox’s Graphics area, including rendering, compositing, images, canvas, and WebGL
- Own day-to-day Graphics maintenance, including bug fixes, regressions, test upkeep, and incoming issues
- Diagnose and fix graphics problems across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
- Carry out code review and routine upkeep so FTE engineers can focus on performance
- Keep the Graphics area healthy, reduce backlog and regressions, and free senior engineers to focus on performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong C++ and/or Rust
- Knowledge of graphics frameworks and GPU architecture
- Strong debugging and optimization in a multithreaded codebase
- Able to work independently and lead technically in a large, mature codebase
- Preferred: Shader languages; mobile/Android; open-source collaboration
