About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and calculate registry/case information from patient medical records
  • Ensure accurate submission of data in specified registries or measure data repositories
  • Prioritize and organize multiple concurrent tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Manage expectations, flag obstacles, and propose timely solutions
  • Navigate electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with systems and applications
  • Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documents
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Stay current on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Complete up to 6 months of specialized on-the-job training through Q-Centrix Institute before joining a client services team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Direct experience in one or more of: emergency room care, bedside care, medical scribing and coding/billing, or quality information systems
  • Exposure to multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to navigate search engines and multitask between applications
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High standards for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Technical savvy and willingness to learn new systems and technology
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects/patient records
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration with hospital partners, peers, team leads, and others
  • Strong self-organization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and adapt to shifting timelines, requirements, and assignments
  • High degree of responsibility in keeping PHI secure and confidential
