About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee daily ROI functions across all sites
  • Manage client communication, project management, strategic planning, budgetary performance, staffing and recruiting
  • Liaise between MRO Corporation and Client Management to ensure contracted service levels and medical record request processing comply with company goals, client policies, and federal/state regulations
  • Conduct meetings with client management to review ROI operations, streamline workflows, create efficiencies, and resolve issues
  • Generate timely, concise, and effective business correspondence
  • Manage regional P&L and expenditures to budget
  • Participate in process review and improvement meetings
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews for each client
  • Review productivity standards and contract language and make operational decisions
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff
  • Ensure staff are oriented, trained, and competent in Medical Record Release of Information
  • Ensure productivity standards and goals are met for direct reports
  • Conduct on-site Human Resource activities
  • Manage employee schedules and approve bi-weekly payroll
  • Manage ROI Specialist schedules to cover peak periods, leave, and vacancies
  • Perform quality assurance monitoring of reporting staff
  • Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews and develop team members
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback and evaluations
  • Promote MRO’s positive image and customer service
  • Respond to customer needs professionally and efficiently
  • Improve regional processes, policies, and practices
  • Report to the MRO Director of Operations and help develop and implement operational plans and ideas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum High School Diploma / GED required
  • Bachelor’s and/or Associates Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration or health related field or equivalent experience is strongly preferred
  • Credentialed RHIT or RHIA preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years supervisory/management experience in Health Information Management in an acute care hospital or clinic setting
  • Prior work history of supervising a minimum of 20 full time employees
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy information standards required
  • Excellence in business writing communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and MS Excel
  • Ability to create and manipulate data in spreadsheets, including use of Pivot Tables and Graphs
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel locally, including overnight stay (as necessary)
