About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply specialized clinical knowledge to categorize, code, summarize, interpret and calculate registry/case information from patient medical records
- Ensure accurate submission of data in specified registries or measure data repositories
- Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks, deadlines and team requests
- Navigate electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools
- Troubleshoot technical issues with systems and applications
- Contribute to data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, business rule documents and team best practices
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Keep current with mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least one year of direct abstraction experience in the Get with the Guidelines CAD registry (within the last 12 months)
- Exposure to multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, and SharePoint)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- High standards for accuracy and attention to detail
- Technical savvy and willingness to learn new systems and technology
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects/patient records
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate with hospital partners, peers, team leads and others
- Strong self-organization and time management skills to manage multiple accounts and shifting priorities
- Ability to adapt to changes in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments
- Ability to keep PHI secure and confidential
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Direct clinical experience preferred
- RN or LPN credentials preferred
