About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process Release of Information (ROI) requests for clients remotely
  • Retrieve electronic documents from client databases
  • Log pertinent information and transfer electronic document images into the ROI-log proprietary database
  • Use electronic data systems to process information
  • Ensure timely completion of client requests to prevent backlog
  • Communicate with team members and client representatives to resolve issues
  • Decide which specific record components to release or make available
  • Review and apply HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy statutes
  • Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information
  • Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information and obtaining pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records
  • Complete ROI requests accurately, perform quality checks, retrieve and pull medical records, and electronically transmit medical records to processing operations
  • Maintain knowledge of current state laws, HIPAA regulations, and facility policies and procedures
  • Accept additional assignments and assist with ROI backlogs and other ROI functions as needed
  • Record hours using proper class and activity codes in MRO’s electronic timekeeping system daily

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • College course beneficial but not required
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in high volume production environments
  • Experience retrieving information from computer database is helpful
  • Dependable, good organizational skills, good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Positive teamwork-oriented attitude
  • Must be available during scheduled hours, dedicated to MRO work alignment in a distraction free and uninterrupted environment
  • Must adhere to productivity standards for each client’s work as assigned meeting minimum requirements
