About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report directly to the Merchandise Lead
- Support the Merchandise Lead in agreeing strategy and targets for pre- and in-season department or range sales and stock forecasts by channel
- Analyse sales, identify winners and losers, and take appropriate actions with stakeholders to maximise sales opportunities
- Create accurate long-term and short-term department forecasts
- Assist the Merchandiser and Buying team in planning products offered each quarter across all channels
- Lead development of department or range plan reviews and lessons learned
- Work with Sourcing Offices to manage the critical path from buy to delivery for each stroke
- Maintain awareness of competitors’ product offers
- Motivate, develop and train relevant line reports
- Buy the premium Autograph head-to-toe womenswear range
Requirements
What you’ll need- Junior Merchandiser level in a fast-paced retailer with a passion for product
- Strong knowledge of the end to end buy to store process
- Experience controlling unplanned in-season costs
- Negotiation skills for managing in-season unplanned costs
- Able to fully utilise the relevant IT support systems
- Strong numerical, analytical and interpretive skills
- Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with Design, Buying and Technology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
