About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and evolve payment services and capabilities across M&S digital platforms.
Develop resilient backend services, APIs, and integrations supporting millions of customer payment journeys annually.
Own features end-to-end, including solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Help shape the Payments platform’s technical direction while balancing performance, scalability, resilience, security, and cost.
Champion clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and establish engineering best practices.
Design systems with observability, monitoring, resilience, and supportability at their core.
Use Dynatrace to improve platform visibility, monitoring, alerting, and service reliability.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Deep experience designing and delivering scalable, resilient systems in complex enterprise environments.
Strong Java engineering expertise.
Experience building enterprise services, APIs, and integrations across distributed systems.
Knowledge of designing systems serving large customer populations with high availability, performance, and security.
Experience with ecommerce platforms, payment services, or highly transactional systems is advantageous.
Passion for software quality, testing, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
Strong understanding of CI/CD, observability, production support, and operational excellence.
