About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect, test, and operate building machinery and equipment
- Maintain, repair, replace, and install parts of physical plant equipment
- Maintain documents for routine maintenance, service requests, and inventory
- Provide courteous, professional customer service when responding to requests and inquiries
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure workspace and properly care for tools and equipment
- Protect MSKCC buildings, assets, and premises to ensure employee and visitor safety
- Adhere to institutional and regulatory safety and infection control standards
- Report to the Manager, Plant Operations Facilities Management
Requirements
What you’ll need- FDNY Q-01 Refrigerating System Operating Engineer certification required
- Relevant NYC certifications preferred: A35, S12, S13, P98, B29, F60, G60 (all required within 6 months of employment)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Ability to handle routine and non-routine tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively with complex information
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Adaptable to changing situations and demands
