About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Diagnose and repair building automation and controls systems
Perform device testing end-to-end, program downloading, equipment start-up and operations
Handle day-to-day and escalated customer relation issues
Install hardware and program, diagnose and repair DDC systems at customer locations
Perform preventive maintenance, modifications and repairs
Interface and consult with customers during site assessments
Assist with development of client proposals for controls system retrofits, upgrades and improvements
Manage all aspects of small projects without Project Manager support
Represent the company to commercial, industrial and institutional customers
Communicate with customers to ensure high customer satisfaction
Document work performed, including daily time, service progression and electronic database updates
Maintain customer satisfaction for continual company growth
Inventory parts, materials and labor per job
Comply with company safety policies and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in diagnosis and repair of building automation and controls systems
Minimum of five (5) years of controls field experience
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems
Ability to test and make modifications in a variety of controls software system languages
Programming capabilities may include Niagara platform, Johnson Controls, Trane and Honeywell Building Management Systems
Ability to interpret control drawings, plans and sequence of operations
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds
Ability to work on lifts and ladders
Must possess hand tools
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting to 25 lbs.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Willingness to participate in company training and self-study
Ability to work in environments involving weather, extreme temperatures, high noise, electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet/humid conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts and elevated places
