About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Determine mechanical construction needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet customer facility requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related activities with the General Contractor or customer
  • Approve invoices
  • Provide complete closeout documentation and warranty coverage
  • Develop scopes of work and project specifications
  • Coordinate project schedules
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for subcontractors
  • Optimize job costs by negotiating prices with vendors and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with inter-company divisions
  • Manage field-level supervision
  • Document work and maintain files for each job
  • Review and maintain cost estimates for materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, and other project activities
  • Prepare monthly job status reports, track productivity, and update budgets
  • Work with engineering on specifications and pricing of purchased equipment
  • Travel up to 20%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 Years of Experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical Construction, specifically mechanical piping, sheet metal and HVAC equipment
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college, military training or technical school preferred
  • Proven success in managing large projects
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
  • Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to write reports
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in environments involving weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise, electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet/humid conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, elevated job sites, and office environments
