Assist in and oversee formulation of Technology strategy, budgets, forecasts and long-range plans aligned with Group strategic objectives
Monitor and report on progress against budgets, forecasts and plans
Analyse and constructively challenge business plans, assumptions and performance outcomes
Provide financial insight to Technology leadership on resource allocation, cost optimisation and value creation opportunities
Establish measurable performance parameters and KPIs across Technology operations
Support Group Finance processes, methodologies and governance standards
Evaluate and prioritise Technology, AI, automation, cloud, digital and infrastructure investments
Provide financial challenge and commercial guidance on technology strategies, transformation programmes and major investment decisions
Develop and review business cases for technology-enabled growth, efficiency and transformation initiatives
Evaluate Capex and Opex investment proposals using financial and valuation methodologies
Develop and maintain advanced financial models for strategic decision-making, investment prioritisation and long-term planning
Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling for budgets, forecasts and plans
Build models supporting capital allocation, cost optimisation and portfolio management decisions
Translate operational, technical and commercial inputs into financial insights and recommendations
Support valuation and financial assessment of strategic programmes, initiatives and partnerships
Monitor business risks and support mitigation strategies
Ensure adherence to governance frameworks, approval processes, policies and Delegation of Authority requirements
Support compliance with financial, regulatory and governance obligations
Drive adoption of approved Finance technology, automation, analytics and AI solutions across Group Business Finance
Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification with FP&A, Capital Management and Finance Business Partnering teams
Champion digital finance capabilities and data-driven decision-making
Support Finance AI and automation use cases aligned to business priorities and governance requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives enhancing Finance productivity, forecasting capability, business partnering effectiveness and insight generation
Deliver budgets, forecasts, strategic plans, executive financial insights, investment evaluations, business cases, capital allocation recommendations, financial models, scenario analyses, cost optimisation outcomes and transformation-driven productivity improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 4-year Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline
CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
Minimum 8 years relevant professional experience
5 years management experience or more, with at least 3 years in the relevant sector, industry, or area of specialisation
Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, budgeting, forecasting and performance management
Strong experience in financial modelling, business case development and investment appraisal
Experience evaluating large-scale Capex and Opex investment programs
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic decision support to senior stakeholders
Experience partnering with Technology and AI business functions is advantageous
Exposure to finance transformation, automation or AI initiatives is advantageous
Proven success in delivering high-quality financial analysis and strategic insights
Experience in governance, compliance and investment approval environments
Strong understanding of value realisation and benefits tracking principles
Genuine interest and initiative in professional development and keeping up with best practices, new tools and technologies
Data gathering, research and analytical abilities to develop insightful conclusions
Report writing and presentation
Advanced AI and modelling skills
Ability to develop relationships and influence decision-making
