About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and guide construction projects from inception to completion
- Lead mega projects
- Mentor and advise Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers
- Oversee high-profile and complex projects with minimal executive oversight
- Develop strong client relationships
- Manage project setup through closeout
- Forecast projects and manage changes and schedules
- Allocate resources to meet project schedules
- Attend project hand-off meetings
- Review and approve construction projects and Schedules of Values for owner billing
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and profitability
- Approve and negotiate high-value subcontracts and purchase orders
- Review and approve monthly project billing and invoices
- Oversee pricing, negotiations, and authorization of project scope changes
- Review and approve Notices of Delay
- Participate in hiring and recruiting project management and field personnel
- Conduct annual employee reviews for direct reports
- Ensure project safety, quality, and productivity
- Maintain job site cleanliness and update project tracking forms
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of previous work experience in the Industrial Construction industry
- Experience managing projects $75MM+ in value
- OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR Training
- Extensive experience managing construction project budgets
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with construction safety and quality standards
- Understanding of construction management processes
- Experience with construction and project management software, including Procore
- Budgeting, scheduling, negotiation, and cost control abilities
- Strong familiarity with contract and subcontract documents
- Conflict resolution and management experience
- Certification such as SPMP, PMP, CCM, or equivalent is a plus
