About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead day-to-day project management activities to deliver scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives
- Schedule and lead project handoff meetings
- Attend required on-site customer meetings and coordinate with clients
- Ensure client satisfaction while balancing scope, time, cost, and field execution needs
- Lead weekly planning and execution meetings with project teams
- Mentor and train Assistant Project Managers and Field Engineers
- Manage contract scope, subcontractors, and coordination with field leadership
- Price, negotiate, and document project scope changes
- Issue formal communications, including Notices of Delay
- Facilitate subcontracts, permits, and purchase orders
- Build and manage project schedules and forecasts
- Prepare construction budgets and verify cost codes
- Perform monthly job cost reporting, budget forecasting, and profitability tracking
- Finalize schedules of values and prepare owner billing and invoices
- Resolve cost discrepancies through data collection and analysis
- Develop and control project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, daily reports, and change documentation
- Track materials, equipment, and productivity
- Review weld and inspection reports
- Prepare RFIs and internal punch lists
- Oversee BIM coordination
- Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, and information with APMs, Field Engineers, and Superintendents
- Manage project safety, quality, and productivity in alignment with company and OSHA standards
- Support field hiring and onboarding with HR
- Review timesheets and conduct performance reviews
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness, organization, and professional standards
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous work experience in project management or BS/BA in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing codes, and process piping standards
- Extensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projects
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
- Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards
- Understanding of construction management processes
- Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
- High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
- Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
- Excellent time management ability
- Ability to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and NetSuite
- PMP, CCM, or design-build experience considered an asset
- OSHA 30 Certified, First Aid and CPR Certified
- Ability to work at heights, around moving equipment, in confined or restricted spaces, and in dynamic, high-hazard environments
- Ability to use required PPE and safely operate hand and power tools
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to follow safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard-control measures
