About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage all project documentation
- Schedule and lead project hand-off meetings
- Prepare construction budgets from plans and specifications; verify cost code accuracy
- Obtain permits and finalize schedules of values for owner billing
- Build and manage project schedules with field supervisors
- Establish and manage project schedules and budgets; report monthly job costs and ensure profitability
- Develop and negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders
- Contractually manage subcontractors
- Track material status and organize submittals and product samples
- Prepare productivity, weld, structural, and inspection reports
- Create and distribute RFIs
- Prepare monthly project billing and invoices
- Resolve cost discrepancies and negotiate project scope changes
- Provide notices of delay for external schedule impacts
- Collaborate with Assistant Project Managers and Superintendents on project resources
- Hire field personnel and coordinate onboarding with HR
- Ensure client satisfaction while balancing scope, time, and cost
- Review timesheets and conduct employee reviews
- Manage project safety, quality, and productivity
- Review incident reports and submit personnel documentation to HR
- Approve invoices and maintain an orderly jobsite
- Update opportunity project tracking and submit it to the CRM Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous work experience in project management or BS/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field
- OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR Training
- Extensive work experience managing budgets for construction projects
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards
- Understanding of construction management processes
- Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
- Familiarity with construction and project management software programs
- High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
- Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
- Ability to multitask and manage core manager duties
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification would be considered an asset
- Design/Build experience would be considered an asset
