About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operationalize infrastructure and processes that enable organizational learning
- Support implementation of SPAA's learning strategy and agenda
- Co-design measurement frameworks and success indicators for the theory of change
- Develop methodologies, frameworks, templates, and evidence trackers for different initiative types
- Define data requirements, reporting templates, and system features supporting learning needs
- Track indicators of SPAA's catalytic impact, including co-funding, new strategies funded, and policy breakthroughs
- Design and facilitate learning reviews, grant portfolio reflections, and workshops
- Stay current on best practices in MEL, adaptive management, and developmental evaluation
- Work with program staff to integrate evidence generation and learning throughout the grantmaking cycle
- Analyze cross-cutting themes, emerging opportunities, implementation challenges, and ecosystem-level signals
- Synthesize grantee reports, funder conversations, data gathering, convenings, and field interactions
- Contribute insights for funder engagement, co-funding, and cross-actor collaboration
- Contribute to quarterly Steering Committee reports and executive briefings
- Design annual impact reports for funders and public audiences
- Support ecosystem convenings that accelerate field-wide learning
- Contribute thought leadership content such as reports, white papers, blog posts, and speaking opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5–7 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), philanthropy and grantmaking, strategy consulting, or organizational learning
- Ability to design and implement learning systems
- Experience developing theories of change or leading evaluation projects
- Ability to analyze data and generate strategic insights
- Ability to synthesize information from diverse sources into recommendations
- Facilitation and execution skills
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects
- Flexibility to collaborate across multiple time zones
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally approximately 25% of the time
- Successful completion of reference checks before starting employment
- Preferred but not required: experience working in the Global South, climate, environment, or energy sectors; familiarity with super pollutants or air quality issues; experience with philanthropic collaboratives or fiscal sponsorship models
