About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete clinical and administrative tasks within the orthopedic surgery clinic
  • Work alongside providers to ensure patients are cared for and the clinic runs smoothly
  • Serve as the first point of patient care within the clinic
  • Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures
  • Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
  • Complete patient care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests
  • Assist with day-to-day clinic operations, including supporting fellow teammates and providers when necessary
  • Float anywhere in the East Region if needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant from an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization, for the credentialed Medical Assistant track
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred
  • BLS certification preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained
  • One year relevant experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare setting in a provider/patient support role, for the non-credentialed Medical Assistant track
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program approved by Munson Healthcare, as an alternative for the non-credentialed Medical Assistant track
  • Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella
  • Employees must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
  • Must be available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, day shift
  • Position is based in Grayling and may require floating anywhere in the East Region
