About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Travel to customer sites to start up, commission, safely troubleshoot, and repair Data Center equipment
  • Work independently while managing projects onsite during startup and commissioning
  • Coordinate other trades and services onsite
  • Perform factory startup, commissioning, warranty, and billable service on Munters Data Center equipment and systems
  • Maintain and protect Munters equipment and property
  • Respond promptly to customer and management service requests
  • Provide customer training on Munters equipment
  • Provide technical feedback on equipment through detailed field service reports
  • Provide instant response to customer needs, including urgent requests, as part of the Field Service team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience and extensive knowledge in the Mechanical field specifically the HVAC field
  • Frequent travel required, up to 90%, across the USA by plane and car
  • Extensive knowledge in electrical troubleshooting, able to diagnose electrical issues with proficiency and record data
  • Knowledge of all safety procedures and requirements and training in Arc flash, lock out tag out and other safety requirements
  • Understands and knows how to utilize all PPE associated with electrical safety
  • Extensive refrigeration knowledge; able to pressure test, evacuate, and charge systems without assistance
  • Able to fully troubleshoot and diagnose refrigeration problems
  • Proficient in brazing and soldering
  • Holds a universal refrigeration card
  • Extensive knowledge in Controls, with experience troubleshooting, programming, or downloading to controls systems
  • Understands PLCs and how to work with all types of platforms
  • Able to access PLC information, adjust PLCs, and connect to a PLC with a computer to communicate and make changes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate well with other site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support personnel
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school desired
  • Ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently/constantly
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift
  • Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminals, and extensive reading
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, and hearing protection
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for several days at a time
  • Willingness to take on-call duties as required
  • Willingness to occasionally work weekends and/or holidays
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Willingness and ability to work 6 feet or more above the ground as required
