Key responsibilities & impact

Define and deploy the amicable collections strategy in a migration environment (reminder sequences, payment schedules, repayment plans)
Coordinate contributions from Billing, Customer Care, and Activation to ensure the end-to-end process is reliable
Ensure process compliance with the regulatory framework governing amicable collections from individual customers
Monitor and improve key performance indicators (delinquency rate, DSO, amicable collections rate, doubtful receivables rate)
Serve as the sole point of contact for the collections service provider: specifications, service levels, reporting, and performance
Make decisions on high-stakes cases through to formal notice of default
Work with IT to configure collections tools and automate payment reminders
Supervise, support, and develop a Collections Officer
Structure the function’s organization (processes, tools, portfolio allocation) and anticipate its growth in volume
Collaborate daily with Billing, Customer Care, Activation, and IT

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience in collections / credit management
Experience structuring or managing a collections function
Experience in a high-volume B2C environment (energy, telecommunications, banking and insurance, utilities, or retail)
Experience managing a team and overseeing external service providers
Comfortable working in a fast-growth environment undergoing significant tool transformation
Strong knowledge of amicable collections techniques and processes, as well as the applicable regulatory framework (Consumer Code, GDPR)
Experience managing external service providers (specifications, SLAs, performance monitoring)
Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
Comfortable defining business rules (portfolio segmentation, risk scoring)
Comfortable using accounting software (including ERP systems), Credit Management tools, and customer management systems (CRM)
Firm yet skilled in negotiation, with an empathetic communication style suited to individual customers, including those experiencing payment difficulties
Strong cross-functional leadership
Data-driven approach, with rigor and strong prioritization skills
Ability to structure a function and establish its foundations
