About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and communicate the Licensing & Billing product strategy and roadmap
- Prioritize foundational investments based on revenue integrity, enterprise needs, data correctness, and engineering effort
- Lead discovery with enterprise customers, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and RevOps
- Own the license server and entitlement model across Cloud, self-hosted, air-gapped, and OEM deployments
- Establish accounts, purchases, license keys, and activations as product primitives and API contracts
- Productize deal-to-entitlement flows integrating Salesforce
- Own usage metering and billing for Cloud and Enterprise, including subscription billing, quotas, and overage charging
- Lead migration from Paddle Classic and unify Cloud and Enterprise billing
- Build usage-based enterprise billing mechanics
- Make architecture and mechanism decisions for entitlements, billing, and enterprise invoicing
- Align with Finance and go-to-market teams
- Establish success measures and hold the squad accountable for outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years in Product, with substantial experience owning billing, licensing, entitlement, or quote-to-cash systems at a B2B SaaS company
- Experience driving cross-functional systems changes involving Finance, Sales Ops, and Engineering
- Ability to design or critique entity models
- Understanding of reconciliation and idempotency in synchronizations
- Ability to read API contracts
- Ability to explain discrepancies between systems reading the same events
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize under ambiguity and connect foundational/data-quality work to commercial outcomes
- Ownership and autonomy
- Exceptional communication with engineers, Finance, and Sales
- Understanding of self-hosted, air-gapped, and OEM deployments
- Nice to have: usage-based or hybrid billing experience
- Nice to have: experience with Paddle, Stripe, Chargebee, Zuora, or similar
- Nice to have: billing-provider migration experience
- Nice to have: ability to read code, query data, or prototype
- Nice to have: Salesforce or CRM-to-billing integration experience
- Nice to have: familiarity with workflow automation, agent orchestration, or open-source/developer-community products
- Nice to have: writing-oriented work style
- Company language is English
- Candidates must have existing right to work outside Germany; Germany visa sponsorship is available
