About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work within an Agile product team to shape and deliver solutions for BNZ’s Core Ledger Replacement programme
  • Manage backlog collation, assessment, and sizing
  • Ensure feature and service functional aspects, linkages, dependencies, and outcomes are understood and catered for
  • Use research, data analysis, and decision-making skills to prioritise and deliver enhancements and bug fixes through implementation
  • Engage functional stakeholders and working groups to clarify details
  • Assist with scoping support functions and supporting materials for customers and internal service suppliers
  • Manage artefacts according to standard BNZ processes throughout the SDLC
  • Lead cross-system risk, dependency, and change impact assessments
  • Shape mitigation strategies and support business and delivery readiness
  • Help modernise BNZ’s lending technology by replacing legacy systems with a modern cloud-based core banking platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience as a Senior Business Analyst
  • Banking industry experience
  • Ideally, understanding of lending technology
  • Strong requirements elicitation, process analysis, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Ability to analyse complex information, identify dependencies and impacts, and translate findings into clear recommendations
  • Experience with APIs, system integrations, data flows, or other interconnected technology platforms
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams and supporting work through the full delivery lifecycle
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Confidence to challenge assumptions, navigate ambiguity, and help stakeholders make informed decisions
