About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the end-to-end plan, scope, schedule, budget, dependencies and delivery outcomes for a major technology workstream
- Translate programme objectives into an executable plan and maintain delivery control
- Apply project management practices including planning, forecasting, governance, dependency management, change control, risk and issue management, and reporting
- Lead, direct, coach and develop Delivery Leads, Business Analysts and other delivery specialists
- Manage delivery relationships with onshore and offshore partners and vendors
- Manage partner commitments, commercials, quality and performance
- Own financial management, budgeting, forecasting and variance management for the workstream
- Track investment benefits and intended outcomes
- Work across technology platforms, business areas and teams to resolve issues and dependencies
- Escalate issues early when needed
- Improve technology change planning, governance and delivery practices
- Work with senior business and technology leaders, delivery partners and vendors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience leading large, complex technology projects, programmes or major workstreams
- Strong grounding in project and programme management practice
- Experience building and managing integrated delivery plans across multiple teams, platforms and dependencies
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and management of delivery spend
- Experience managing technology vendors, commercial partners and outsourced delivery
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing delivery professionals
- Strong governance, risk, issue, dependency and change-management disciplines
- Confidence operating with senior stakeholders and communicating complex delivery situations simply and honestly
- Experience working across traditional project/programme environments and modern product or agile delivery environments
- Ability to move between the big picture and detail
- Financial services experience is useful
