About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build connectors into third-party enterprise platforms, including authentication, data flow, event handling, and verification experiences
  • Build Nametag-side APIs, services, and webhooks
  • Build console configuration and setup experiences for customers
  • Take integrations through marketplace and app review processes
  • Get productive quickly in unfamiliar APIs and extensibility models
  • Implement against OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and platform-specific alternatives
  • Handle rate limits, partial outages, breaking changes, and undocumented behavior
  • Operate integrations in production and diagnose customer-specific failures
  • Build observability to detect broken integrations before customers do
  • Design for versioning and backwards compatibility
  • Extract shared infrastructure from individual connectors
  • Contribute to tooling, scaffolding, and templates
  • Document integrations for support and solutions engineers
  • Work closely with the product manager for integrations and influence integration design

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future need for visa sponsorship
  • 4+ years building and operating production software, including backend services and APIs
  • Demonstrated experience integrating with third-party APIs in production
  • Strong backend skills in Go, Node.js, Python, Java, or similar
  • Enough frontend ability to build configuration and setup UI in React or a comparable framework
  • Working knowledge of OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, webhooks, and related failure modes
  • Relational database experience; PostgreSQL preferred
  • Cloud experience; AWS preferred
  • Patience with other people's documentation and an instinct to verify rather than trust it
  • Clear communication and good judgment in a remote, cross-functional team
  • Bonus: hands-on experience with Workday, ServiceNow, Slack, Okta, Entra, ICIMS, or UKG extensibility
  • Bonus: experience shipping an app through a marketplace or app review process
  • Bonus: experience with identity, authentication, account recovery, fraud prevention, or compliance-heavy products
  • Bonus: experience building an integration platform or connector framework
  • Bonus: experience in solutions engineering, professional services, or customer-facing engineering
