About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Request and review medical records to identify relevant clinical information supporting genetic testing cases
  • Flag missing or incomplete documentation for follow-up
  • Assemble documentation packets for prior authorization, claims, or appeals submissions
  • Maintain accurate case documentation in internal systems
  • Send and track medical record requests
  • Monitor case pipelines to ensure required documentation is received
  • Update internal systems with record status and next steps
  • Meet daily/weekly task metrics for record requests and case movement
  • Support provider and patient outreach initiatives related to documentation or required forms
  • Track outreach efforts and responses
  • Contribute to operational improvement and workflow efficiency projects
  • Collaborate with Genetic Counselors, Prior Authorization, Billing, and Appeals teams
  • Participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation and HIPAA/PHI compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, genetics, life sciences, public health, or related field OR equivalent tears of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret medical documentation
  • Comfort working in a data-driven, process-oriented environment
  • Academic background in genetics or healthcare-related discipline preferred
  • Experience with medical records, healthcare documentation, or insurance workflows preferred
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Google Workspace preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously
  • Comfort learning new systems and workflows
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Compliance with HIPAA/PHI standards
