About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and run the operational backbone of Natera’s Pharma Discovery Lab
  • Manage internal and external project portfolios from inception through execution
  • Track portfolio metrics, budgets, stage-gated milestones, and resourcing
  • Coordinate wet lab, dry lab, bioinformatics, RWD analytics, and pharma-partner activities
  • Build PDL with lab and IT operations on time and on budget
  • Lead internal cross-functional projects across PDL and the BioPharma business unit
  • Track deliverables, timelines, and resourcing for pharma contracts and flag risks
  • Coordinate shared infrastructure and CapEx planning between PDL and the internal R&D Lab
  • Support resourcing and hiring plans to close capability gaps
  • Facilitate working groups, client status meetings, and internal review forums
  • Support go-to-market and monetization structuring with BD and finance
  • Maintain budget visibility, resource forecasts, and spend tracking
  • Translate scientific priorities into operational plans for cross-functional stakeholders
  • Prepare client-facing materials, KOL engagement support, and scientific narratives
  • Manage change and communications as PDL scales
  • Report into PDL leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in oncology drug development, translational research, or biomarker/CDx program management
  • Experience ideally spanning both pharma and diagnostics/lab-services environments
  • Track record leading complex, cross-functional programs, governance operations, portfolio/program tracking, and senior-level stakeholder management
  • Experience managing biomarker sample operations, biorepository/biobank workflows, or CDx-adjacent laboratory operations
  • Financial acumen, including budget forecasting, resource planning, and deal or contract structuring experience
  • Strong meeting facilitation, executive communication, and document-authoring skills
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and external pharma partners
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and build process/governance from the ground up
  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or MS) in a life sciences required
  • MBA or equivalent business training is a plus
  • Preferred: experience in biopharma translational medicine, biomarker portfolio, or clinical operations at a large pharma or biotech
  • Preferred: familiarity with liquid biopsy/MRD, CGP (WES/WTS/WGS), spatial transcriptomics, single-cell, or digital pathology platforms
  • Preferred: experience supporting biomarker strategy for regulatory submissions (IND/IDE, companion diagnostics) or Phase 1–3 clinical trial biomarker operations
