About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise, provide, and direct nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures
  • Make advanced-level observations, record and report observations, form nursing judgments, and carry out nursing actions
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans based on client needs
  • Administer medications and treatments and maintain accurate medication records
  • Follow staffing guidelines, make nursing assignments, and provide continuity-of-care reports
  • Monitor diets, meal trays, snacks, and resident intake; assist with feeding
  • Follow admissions procedures and communicate admissions to departments, staff, physicians, and service providers
  • Supervise nursing assistants, assign duties, document and correct poor performance, and participate in evaluations
  • Communicate professionally with residents, peers, families, managers, visitors, physicians, and other staff
  • Report changes in physical or mental conditions and resident complaints
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, interdisciplinary team meetings, and committee meetings as assigned
  • Document resident information, assessments, changes, notifications, and MAR/TAR updates accurately, timely, and confidentially
  • Ensure resident safety, demonstrate proper equipment use, report equipment needs, and follow infection-control and universal-precaution protocols
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a vocational school of practical nursing
  • One to two years of experience preferred
  • Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the Internet
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies
  • Must complete annual education requirements, including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training
