About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct care and comfort to residents and assist with activities of daily living
  • Lift, turn, position, transport, bathe, dress, groom, and provide oral hygiene for residents
  • Answer and respond to call lights
  • Provide restorative care, including range of motion, ambulation, and bowel and bladder training
  • Communicate resident condition changes to supervisors
  • Assist nurses with measuring and recording vital signs, weights, documentation, admissions, and staff orientation
  • Make beds, clean closets, organize and maintain resident living areas
  • Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, safety, infection control, and universal precautions
  • Document resident information accurately and confidentially in the electronic medical record system
  • Prepare residents for meals, serve food, assist with eating, provide after-meal care, pass snacks and water, and record intake
  • Maintain resident rooms, perform daily, deep, and discharge cleaning
  • Engage residents in activities and provide restorative nursing programs
  • Complete required annual education, including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or currently enrolled in a program to achieve the preferred education
  • Two to four years of experience preferred
  • Good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web
  • Current Ohio State Tested Nurse Aide license required for Ohio
  • Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant license required for Florida
