About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a dedicated PMO team and set direction for PMO operations across the SEP Portfolio
  • Plan and mobilise major programme workstreams, managing interdependencies
  • Deputise for the Head of Portfolio when required
  • Act as key contact for Programme PMOs and the NESO Enterprise Portfolio Office
  • Design and implement the SEP Portfolio governance framework, standards, and processes
  • Lead portfolio governance meetings, PMO forums, and team events
  • Produce portfolio reporting, management information, and insights for NESO leadership and external reporting to DESNZ and Ofgem
  • Maintain the SEP Portfolio integrated plan, programme plans, schedules, dependencies, and critical milestones
  • Manage portfolio risks, controls, and mitigation actions
  • Support programmes in resolving or escalating risks and issues and align programme- and portfolio-level risks
  • Drive consistent reporting, processes, templates, and tools across SEP programmes
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage stage-gate governance processes and support programme approvals
  • Maintain an accessible portfolio document repository
  • Ensure compliance with NESO programme management standards, tools, and frameworks
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Assure programme outputs meet quality, governance, and delivery standards
  • Manage portfolio communications with the embedded Communications professional

Requirements

What you’ll need
