About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic assessment throughout the College
  • Manage annual student learning outcomes assessments and comprehensive program reviews
  • Develop and maintain assessment processes, tools, dashboards, rubrics, surveys, and reporting methodologies
  • Analyze student learning and program effectiveness data to support evidence-based decision-making
  • Produce reports and recommendations for academic leadership, faculty, and university stakeholders
  • Administer assessment management systems and assessment dashboards
  • Serve as primary college contact for accreditation and state approval activities
  • Lead preparation of self-studies, annual reports, accreditation submissions, quality assurance reports, and accreditation responses
  • Guide compliance efforts related to CTC, WSCUC, AAQEP, and other relevant agencies
  • Support accreditation site visits, review processes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Partner with faculty, program directors, department chairs, curriculum leaders, and instructional designers
  • Provide training, coaching, and consultation on assessment methodologies and accreditation requirements
  • Support development and revision of PLOs, SLOs, CLOs, assessment maps, rubrics, and evaluation tools
  • Help faculty translate assessment findings into actionable program improvements
  • Review new and revised program and course proposals for assessability
  • Collaborate with curriculum and instructional design teams on quality assurance and assessment alignment
  • Serve on the Dean's Cabinet and College leadership team
  • Contribute to strategic planning, quarterly operating reviews, and special projects
  • Collaborate with university assessment, accreditation, institutional research, and data operations leaders
  • Identify opportunities to improve assessment processes and organizational effectiveness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Doctoral degree in Education or a closely related field
  • Minimum eight (8) years of higher education assessment and accreditation experience
  • Experience supporting assessment and accreditation within a College of Education or educator preparation environment
  • Experience with teacher credentialing programs
  • Experience with accreditation site visits and accreditation reporting
  • Experience working with California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
  • Experience with regional and/or programmatic accreditation agencies
  • Experience with student learning outcomes assessment
  • Experience with program review processes
  • Experience conducting data analysis and using assessment findings to inform decision-making
  • Experience working with graduate and/or online education programs
  • Experience using assessment management systems and student information systems
  • Collaborative, highly organized leadership approach
  • Deep knowledge of teacher education accreditation and credentialing requirements
  • Understanding of California CTC processes and expectations
  • Ability to balance multiple assessment and accreditation initiatives
  • Ability to build relationships with faculty and academic leaders
  • Effective stakeholder communication across organizational levels
