About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive execution, alignment, and continuous evolution of product roadmaps across Business Services, Transcript Services, and/or Insights portfolios
- Translate enterprise strategy into actionable product plans with executive leadership
- Lead and develop Product Directors, Product Managers, and Product Owners
- Oversee multiple complex, interrelated product initiatives and ensure high-quality outcomes
- Align product vision with business goals and market trends
- Develop product strategies, implementation plans, and decisions
- Identify trends and future needs using data and qualitative information
- Seek efficiencies, cost-effective technologies, streamlined workflows, and optimized investments
- Lead discovery, validation, and definition of new product features, enhancements, capabilities, and platform opportunities
- Oversee customer interviews, focus groups, voice-of-customer analysis, usage analytics, competitive research, and surveys
- Direct pilot programs and proof-of-concept efforts and evaluate operational and financial viability
- Ensure user-centered design, low-resolution prototyping, functional and non-functional requirements, and user stories
- Lead product lifecycle activities including launches, iteration, and deprecation
- Partner with Finance, Strategy, Marketing and Communications, Sales, and Business Development on launches and feature releases
- Support revenue generation and adoption through enablement, positioning, and customer engagement
- Lead partnership business cases, due diligence, and vendor/partner collaboration
- Establish and implement metrics and KPIs using data to guide decisions and measure outcomes
- Plan go-to-market strategies and drive product adoption
- Develop team capabilities in market, usage, competitive, pricing, and customer analysis
- Provide servant leadership during uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines
- Communicate product and company vision and strategy to staff
- Apply Agile and Lean Portfolio Management practices to coordinate and prioritize resources
- Define business context, metrics, milestones, dependencies, schedules, and success measures
- Monitor projects, timelines, resources, risks, and team capacity
- Present product strategies, insights, and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Build partnerships across Technology, Sales, Marketing, Customer Operations, Finance, and external partners
- Resolve conflicts and competing priorities through influence and collaboration
- Establish standards, tools, processes, and metrics for customer-centric product teams
- Recruit, manage, coach, and develop employees; provide feedback, performance management, training plans, and career development support
- Monitor performance, annual reviews, rewards, and compensation structures
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in business, technology, or related field; a combination of education and experience including military service will also be considered
- 15 years of experience managing large-scale programs and/or products in excess of $50M, prioritizing and aligning schedules and resources, adjusting scope, resolving conflicts and issues with minimal oversight, and delivering on time and within budget
- 15 years of experience managing multiple product initiatives and teams simultaneously
- 15 years of experience developing clear product and business requirements with internal and external stakeholders
- 10 years of experience leading a large diverse team or group of teams/functions in Agile environments
- 10 years of experience in product management as a senior product leader or individual contributor and team leader in a hi-tech SaaS or DaaS environment
- Experience training and coaching product managers/owners in data-driven decision-making and best practices
- Strong working knowledge of profit and loss management and strong business acumen
- Understanding and communication of high-level market trends and changes with executives and senior leaders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting to all levels of stakeholders
- Strong technical knowledge of SaaS product design and development
- Proven ability to coordinate and execute all aspects of go-to-market activities
- Ability to influence executive leaders and team members to reach consensus and drive programs forward
- Deep expertise in market analysis, competitive analysis, usage analysis, sentiment analysis, persona development, and requirements development
- Proficient use of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and other collaboration tools
- Must live within a commutable distance to Herndon, VA or in one of the Clearinghouse's approved states for hiring purposes
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Up to 30–50% travel may be required
- Additional desired qualifications include a Ph.D., higher education/data experience, Agile and Waterfall SDLC project management, PMBOK methodology, PMP certification or equivalent experience, Agile certifications, LPM/APM experience, integrations, webhooks, APIs, SQL, data management, visualization tools, and higher-education sales or client relationship management
