About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide organizational support to the Merchandising team and partner with the Merchandiser on day-to-day business
- Manage the full life cycle of purchase orders and markdowns
- Issue and maintain purchase orders and reconcile IP and Garpac systems
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Maintain planned receipt flow and communicate issues
- Manage markdowns for stores and e-commerce
- Create and maintain weekly selling, Hindsight, store, and best-seller reports
- Review and react to sales performance and selling reports
- Maintain data integrity in systems and published documentation
- Assist with pricing strategies, assortment plans, sales forecasts, and sales analysis
- Organize and manage samples for meetings, archives, e-commerce photo shoots, and sample sales
- Manage the e-commerce photo shoot process, calendar, seasonal line sheets, and shot lists
- Partner with the Web Merchant to ensure new products go live and are merchandised in New Arrivals
- Monitor industry trends and evaluate competitors in stores and online
- Track competitor pricing and promotions and propose business-driving ideas
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree; focus in Fashion Merchandising
- 1 to 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Buyer, preferably
- Sense of urgency, flexibility, and ability to multi-task
- Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
- Strong analytical skills, with an emphasis on spreadsheet applications
- Open-minded and positive attitude with the ability to partner cross-functionally and grow relationships
- Strong business acumen and ability to quickly assess a new environment and develop solutions supporting business strategy and critical objectives
- Creative with a strategic mindset and ability to turn concepts into action
- Strong relationship-building and influence skills
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day responsibilities
