About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic direction and hands-on operational leadership across an assigned portfolio of senior living communities.
- Oversee communities offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services across North Carolina, South Carolina, and additional Southeast markets.
- Lead and develop Regional Directors of Operations and Operations Specialists.
- Drive operational excellence, financial performance, occupancy growth, regulatory compliance, and exceptional resident and team member experiences.
- Lead portfolio strategy and operational leadership.
- Manage regional team leadership, financial performance, occupancy and revenue growth, quality, compliance, and resident experience.
- Support talent, retention, team engagement, growth, acquisitions, transitions, and executive and ownership partnerships.
- Travel weekly to communities throughout the organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of progressive senior living operations leadership, including multi-state regional or divisional oversight.
- Prior experience as an Executive Director or licensed administrator of a senior living community.
- Working knowledge of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care operations, including state licensing regulations, survey processes, OSHA standards, and fire and safety codes.
- Demonstrated success managing regional leaders and Executive Directors to achieve occupancy, financial, and quality goals.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget development, P&L management, labor management, and capital planning.
- Experience with community acquisitions, management transitions, or new community openings preferred.
- Experience presenting operating results to ownership, investor, or board partners preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence executives, regional leaders, residents, families, and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational, financial, and sales reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned portfolio, including overnight travel.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, gerontology, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
- MBA, MHA, or related Master's degree preferred.
