About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide basic financial consulting services to members and non-members to identify financial goals and objectives
- Promote and grow Navy Federal Financial Group products and services
- Recommend appropriate insurance and investment products and services
- Establish and build relationships within the assigned branch territory
- Conduct local seminars and member engagement events
- Partner with the Wealth Advisor to segment the book of business based on member needs and complexity
- Provide investment industry expertise during client consultations and service life insurance and investment products
- Administer and document account activity in accordance with NFFG procedures and FINRA, NASAA, and SEC regulations
- Review accounts, communicate account status, explain activities, and inform clients of new offerings
- Develop an internal pipeline for smaller-dollar and less-complex accounts
- Establish, maintain, and develop business relationships with members and internal/external sources
- Execute customer and broker securities purchase and sales orders
- Identify prospective partners and opportunities through prospect calling, networking, and existing participation business
- Monitor legislative and industry updates for market opportunities and concerns
- Monitor accounts, identify discrepancies and errors, and take remedial action
- Track and report individual sales-plan performance and assigned strategies to leadership
- Participate in site audits and ensure compliance with Navy Federal, FINRA, NASAA, SEC, and other regulatory standards
- Prepare standard and special reports required by FINRA, NASAA, and SEC
- Participate in industry and internal audits
- Perform other duties as assigned or appropriate
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven ability to prospect and grow an established book of business
- Ability to generate GDC based on defined thresholds within a specified period of time
- FINRA Series 7 and combination of NASAA Series 63/65 or 66 registration required
- Life & Health Insurance License preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Ability to obtain appointment by the sponsoring insurance company, broker-dealer and/or Registered Investment Advisory Firm
- Experience in business development, including market strategy, product demonstration and promoting products and services
- Experience consulting with customers to assess financial status and identify investment needs
- Knowledge of investment and insurance products
- Knowledge of industry-related laws and government regulations
- Proficiency with PCs, spreadsheet, database, word processing applications, CRMs and financial analysis software
- Understanding of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, banking, analysis, and reporting of financial data
- Effective analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, planning, time management, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or related discipline, or related professional experience (desired qualification)
- Knowledge of Navy Federal/NFFG organization, programs, policies and procedures (desired)
- Desire to pursue relevant financial services designation (desired)
