About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the International Worker Program
  • Develop, implement, and administer immigration and global mobility initiatives
  • Ensure immigration and visa applications are accurate and timely
  • Identify and implement efficiencies and standardization
  • Develop and execute project plans and initiatives
  • Deliver international transactional services
  • Counsel associates and senior leaders on appropriate visas based on travel purpose and duration
  • Conduct informational sessions with travelers and leaders before travel
  • Serve as subject matter expert on employment and work visa immigration laws
  • Work with outside legal counsel, relocation management, NFCU leaders and associates, Talent Acquisition, Travel, Legal, and Tax teams
  • Lead PERM initiations, I-140 petitions, Adjustment of Status, and Green Card applications
  • Manage immigration and global mobility cases from start to completion
  • Develop and coordinate sponsorship processes for visas, green cards, passports, work permits, benefits, and expatriate assignments
  • Escalate matters for legal review and manage audits and requests for evidence
  • Improve processes and support for foreign nationals using Oracle HCM and ServiceNow
  • Prepare cost-management strategies and assignment cost projections
  • Track assignment details, benefits, costs, and immigration and employment documents
  • Educate stakeholders on Immigration and Global Mobility practices and legislation
  • Create training materials and train foreign nationals, managers, HRBPs, talent acquisition, and business leaders
  • Train global mobility associates on administrative immigration functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working in a company with a complex international visa and sponsorship
  • Experience creating reports, communications, and presentations to all levels of management
  • Experience developing and implementing Expatriate Assignments
  • Experience working with and managing vendor relationships for immigration, compliance, and reporting
  • Expert understanding of immigration law and best practices
  • Expert knowledge and application of effective screening and interview techniques
  • Accountability and follow-through, with ability to interface and influence across the organization
  • Ability to work effectively in complex, sensitive, and ambiguous situations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
