About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise and assist trainers on course evaluation results
  • Collaborate to plan and design courses and curricula, ensure content accuracy, and test multimedia elements
  • Conduct needs assessments and provide customized training or individual guidance to improve performance
  • Create and edit LMS learning activities, training assignments, and custom LMS reports
  • Create dynamic instructional and training materials using current technologies, references, and support tools
  • Develop and test course content, training games, graphic designs, and other technology-driven products
  • Develop classroom, online, and/or independent learning program content that transfers knowledge and drives desired behavior change
  • Develop instructional strategies and courses for business-unit and cross-company products and skills
  • Evaluate course, learning-product, and delivery-method effectiveness against learning objectives and goals
  • Participate in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables, significant risk, and complexity
  • Select effective instructional approaches, including instructor-led and self-directed techniques
  • Select, modify, or establish appropriate design and development models and analyze learning needs to establish objectives
  • Train internal team members on effective use of classroom materials, including ILT and VILT environments
  • Integrate feedback, assessments, and course evaluations into training content and delivery vehicles
  • Conduct presentations for groups including executive leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives
  • Research subject matter and create curricula by processing large volumes of information
  • Refresh training and materials throughout their lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating work-flow
  • Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of courses, learning products, and delivery methods
  • Experience researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs, and other technology-driven products
  • Advanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools, and resources
  • Working knowledge of instructional design to develop courses for products, processes, and/or skills
  • Advanced skill to influence, lead, and/or guide others toward goals
  • Effective database and presentation software skills
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective skill capturing and translating processes and requirements into easily understood terms
  • Effective collaboration with external and internal technical and/or functional contacts
  • Effective communication with all organizational levels
  • Effective skill assessing organizational training needs and researching topics for course development

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development, or related field, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Experience in multi-media training (desired)
  • Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, and procedures (desired)
  • Financial Services industry knowledge (desired)
  • Experience with graphic design (desired)
