About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage day-to-day operations of the Business Process Optimization team and ensure timely delivery of initiatives
- Translate business needs into actionable optimization and process improvement plans
- Oversee execution of moderately complex projects and initiatives
- Ensure process documentation, reporting, and compliance with standards
- Develop business cases and ROI models for process investments
- Define and track value metrics for process improvement projects
- Support development and implementation of automation and efficiency tools
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify improvement opportunities
- Track and report project progress, risks, and outcomes
- Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Support resource planning and team development
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to identify pain points and co-create solutions
- Conduct post-implementation reviews
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in a process optimization function or related experience
- 1+ years of management experience, or equivalent experience as a subject matter lead or expert
- Broad knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations
- Broad knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services
- Significant progressively responsible experience leading and managing business optimization teams, preferably in a large financial institution
- Experience with operational and regulatory controls
- Experience demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative-taking, decision making and creative business problem solving
- Advanced experience in business case development and ROI modeling
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives aligned with business goals
- Strong analytical skills for workflow evaluation and optimization
- Ability to translate process data into actionable insights and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma tools
- Skill in managing daily operations and ensuring consistent execution of process standards
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional efforts and resolve process-related challenges
- Strong communication skills for presenting process updates and recommendations
- Commitment to developing team capabilities through coaching and performance feedback
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize resources to meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Master’s degree, Lean Six Sigma certification, CBPP, or Certified Lean Practitioner listed as desired qualifications
