About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to end-to-end CECL model development, implementation, execution, monitoring, documentation, and governance for consumer lending portfolios
  • Design, develop, and evaluate large and complex predictive models and advanced algorithms
  • Test hypotheses and models, analyze results, and interpret findings
  • Develop actionable insights and recommendations
  • Develop and code complex software programs, algorithms, and automated processes
  • Evaluate information and exercise judgment to select appropriate courses of action
  • Produce innovative solutions through exploratory data analysis of complex, high-dimensional datasets
  • Document analyses and present findings to diverse stakeholders
  • Develop strong working relationships with team members, subject matter experts, and leaders
  • Lead moderate to large projects and initiatives
  • Model best practices and ethical AI
  • Work with senior management on complex issues
  • Assist with developing and enhancing practices, procedures, and instructions
  • Serve as a technical resource for team members
  • Mentor junior team members in credit risk forecasting and financial performance assessments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of experience with requisite competencies
  • Complete knowledge and full understanding of specialization
  • Knowledge of statistics, machine learning, data mining, data auditing, aggregation, reconciliation, and visualization
  • Knowledge of programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, SQL, Hadoop, SPSS, Scala, and AWS
  • Model lifecycle execution
  • Technical writing
  • Data storytelling and technical presentation skills
  • Research skills
  • Advanced knowledge of procedures, instructions, and validation techniques
  • Model development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar quantitative fields
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Desired: Master's/PhD degree in a related field
  • Desired: Advanced knowledge of CECL reserving, credit loss forecasting, and Model Risk Management guidelines
  • Desired: Experience with consumer lending portfolios
  • Desired: Familiarity with loan-level or account-level credit loss modeling techniques
  • Desired: Experience implementing controlled model production processes
  • Desired: Experience responding to model risk, audit, regulatory, accounting, or control review questions
  • Desired: Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing consumer lending
  • Desired: Advanced knowledge of banking and financial industry trends
  • Monday-Friday availability, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
