About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development and ongoing evolution of nbn’s enterprise-wide Responsible AI strategy, roadmap, and governance framework
- Build trust in AI across the organisation and help nbn unlock AI benefits responsibly
- Guide implementation and oversight of AI governance processes, policies, and controls
- Help manage AI risk and meet evolving regulatory obligations
- Embed fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout the AI lifecycle
- Chair nbn’s AI Risk Council
- Contribute to broader Digital, AI, and Data strategies
- Engage with government and industry stakeholders
- Support teams in translating enterprise frameworks into practical, responsible ways of working
- Build trusted relationships and bring people together around shared outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience in governance, compliance, risk, legal, regulatory, or security environments
- Strong knowledge of Responsible AI and AI ethics
- Knowledge of relevant domestic and international laws and policy
- Understanding of the opportunities and risks presented by AI systems
- Experience designing and implementing complex governance frameworks or enterprise-wide programs
- Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate complex requirements into clear, practical approaches
- Full working rights in Australia
- Ability to support responsible innovation and work collaboratively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
